OxGord Dog Ball Launcher

Disclosure: I received this ball launcher at a discounted rate for my honest review.

ball launcher

The OxGord Ball Launcher is seriously an awesome ball launcher for many reasons.

First of all, it takes little, if any, strength to launch the ball a long ways. Even someone like me, who can hardly throw a ball, can launch it a great distance with the help of this tool! The handle has finger grips that allow you to hold the launcher comfortably.

Second, the OxGord Ball Launcher fits a regular size tennis ball which means you can purchase new balls at a low price. Tennis balls can be bought almost anywhere…Target, Walmart, Dicks Sporting Goods, and more.

Third, this launcher is very affordable. It is on sale right now for $5.95 plus FREE shipping!! That is an amazing price for such a study well-made dog toy.

The thing I like best about this ball launcher is that you don’t have to touch the ball when picking it up. You also don’t have to lean over very much since the handle is 19 inches long. This is so important when you are throwing a ball over and over for your dog!
I would definitely recommend this launcher for anyone who enjoys playing fetch/ball with their dog. I give it 5 stars! Check out the OxGord Dog Ball Launcher at Amazon by using my link: http://amzn.to/1KLqLNo

Second Bark Box

Disclosure: ABC received a free Bark Box in exchange for this post. Affiliate links are attached.

Today we received our second Bark Box and ABC were just as excited this time. We all gathered around on the floor to open it and discover the fun things inside. There was lots of tail wagging and sniffing going on as I took each item out of the box.

In this Bark Box, we received four different types of treats, all of which were made in the USA. This is very important to me as most recalled treats are made in other countries. These treats are also all natural and grain free. ABC might not realize this, but they love the variety of flavors and different types of treats from soft to crunchy!!

We also received three toys in this box – two squeaker toys and one baby carrot and treat dispensing toy. One of the squeaker toys is called Carly the Bearded Lady and I personally think she’s a little scary (luckily the boys don’t know that). Unlike most squeaker toys, you shake this one to get it to make its noise.  I can tell that these toys are well made, durable, and will last a long time! The toys from our first Bark Box are still going strong!

Coby is a carrot lover so I was so excited to introduce him to the carrot dispensing toy. Just as I thought, it kept him busy and he enjoyed every bite of his carrot. This toy will be handy for an active puppy who enjoys chewing.

ABC’s First BarkBox

The other day we got our first BarkBox! BarkBox is a monthly box of goodies just for dogs!!! Each box contains 4-6 treats, toys, and occasional hygiene/grooming products. A great deal of thought and research goes into each monthly BarkBox. They use only the best quality toys and treats. The toys are high quality, durable, and well-made. All treats are sourced from the USA and Canada, and chews are sourced from the USA, Canada, South America, Australia and New Zealand.

BarkBox can be ordered each month or as a 3, 6, or 12 month plan. The more months you sign up, the less expensive the boxes. Pricing is as follows:

Twelve month plan = $228! This breaks down to $19 per BarkBox.

Six month plan = $126. This breaks down to $21 per BarkBox.

Three month plan = $72. This breaks down to $24 per BarkBox.

One month plan = $29 per month

The more you order – the more you save!!! Shipping is free for subscriptions of 3, 6, or 12 months. There is a $5 shipping fee for monthly orders. Just another reason to order 3 or more months! Although, you can use my link below to receive free shipping on a one month plan.

There is also a BarkShop where you can purchase individual treats, toys, and other accessories. If you receive a toy or treat your dog really loves, visit the shop to buy another. Shipping from BarkShop is a $5 flat rate or free with order of $25 or more.

We’ve had our BarkBox since Thursday (4 days) and so far I am very pleased with the toys and the treats. The toys are very sturdy and well-made. Artie, Buddy, and Coby have been playing with them a lot and they still look brand new. Earlier this week I bought a cheap toy from a pet store and the dogs had it torn apart with stuffing everywhere in less than two hours. I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for! You may pay a little more for BarkBox toys, but they are worth the extra cost. Below are the three toys we received, all of which squeak.

We also received three different treats all made in the USA, which pleases me greatly! We got some Peanut Butter Pocket Trainers, Crunchy Duck + Sweet Potato Premium Chew Bar, and Cocomut Brownies. The chew bar was one big hard bar, and it wasn’t easy to break into three pieces, but ABC enjoyed it and it kept them busy. They also like the pocket trainers treats which have peanut butter, Chia, blueberries, and cranberries for anti-oxidant support. The Cocomut Brownies are free from wheat, corn, soy, meat products, egg, dairy, salt, sugar, and preservatives. They are made by the Lazy Dog Cookie Company which prides itself on using all natural products from the USA.

I am extremely pleased with our first BarkBox and I would definitely recommend it. We all know how much fun it is to receive packages in the mail for ourselves. Imagine getting a package full of goodies for your canine baby!!! It is so much fun and exciting for the human and the dog. I highly suggest you give BarkBox a try!!!

Below are two links that you can use to get a discount on both BarkBox and BarkShop. Follow these links to get 10% off and free shipping at BarkBox and a free bully stick with a purchase of $10 or more at BarkShop.

Ways to Correct Inappropriate Dog Chewing

As we all know, dogs love to chew on anything and everything! Chewing is their natural way to explore their environment. We want our dogs to explore and learn, therefore, it is our responsibility to be sure they are learning appropriate behaviors, such as chewing.

Here are some steps to avoid inappropriate chewing:

1. Understand why you dog chews

* It is natural for them to put things in their mouths to explore.

* Chewing helps with any pain they maybe having due to teething or other gum issues. Dogs go through a teething period at 4-6 months. During this time they will chew to help with discomfort.

* Dogs are busy…they need things to do, so they resort to chewing.

2. Puppy proof your house

* If you don’t want it in your dogs mouth, put it away or up high!

* Close doors to rooms such as bedrooms and bathrooms.

3. Encourage appropriate chewing

* Dogs must be taught right from wrong.

* Make sure you have many appropriate chew toys available. Appropriate toys include raw hides, very hard rubber toys, ropes, stuffed toys, and tennis balls. Even though these toys are available, there maybe times when your dog gets ahold of something it shouldn’t. If this happens, do not chase your dog, instead, offer your dog a treat or a toy (then snatch up the inappropriate item).

* Always take away the inappropriate item and replace it with an appropriate item.

* Be sure your dog is supervised, especially as a puppy.

4. Exercise your dog

* Exercise is the most important aspect of dog life.

* A tired dog tends to show more appropriate behaviors.

* Play with your dog or take it for walks.

Good Buys!

I love to shop Marshalls and Home Goods for dog supplies and treats. I’ve found some really good deals on things like doggie bags, harnesses, car seats, and baskets/containers for dog toys. If you like it…buy it!!! These stores carry odds-and-ends or discounted items, so it may not be there next time you shop. Believe me…I learned.

Today I purchased this container for the dogs’ toys at Marshalls for $7.99
