At a recent vet appointment, the doctor said Artie’s teeth hardly have any tarter and they aren’t due for a cleaning. This made my day, especially since he’s 7 and I don’t brush his teeth. I credit his clean teeth to rawhides and cleaning bones. One of his favorites is Greenies Freshmint Canine Dental Chews. He loves the taste of them, and I love how they clean his teeth at the same time.
Here is a description of Greenies from the Chewy.com website:
- They’re the #1 vet-recommended dental chew
- Provides a total oral health solution
- Safe and easy to digest
- Highly palatable and have an irresistible taste
- Teenie chew for dogs 5-15 pounds
- Made in the USA
If you’re looking for a treat that will help your dog’s teeth, I highly suggest Greenies. Chewy.com is our place for them…check out their website for these and other great pet treats.

Congratulations on the clean teeth! Yorkers are prone to dental issues. I would encourage you to consider other options, though. Raw hides, if swallowed, can cause intestinal blockages. Greenies have been known to literally adhere to the back of the esophagus when sticky chunks are swallowed, requiring surgical removal. Try raw beef bones. They clean the teeth and are a source of calcium for your dog.
