This weekend we are all headed to see my mom and dad in Ohio. When traveling with a dog, there are many things you need to remember to take with you. I started making a pile of all the things we will be taking for ABC. It is a good idea to make a list of things you take when traveling and then add to the list as you think of more needed things.
First of all. you need some type of bag to carry all their supplies. I happen to have this adorable bag from Thirty One. This bag is really a little small, but it works for almost all their supplies.
Here are the supplies we are taking this weekend:
- Our bag
- The dog crate
- Blankets
- Car seats
- Dry food and wet food
- Treats
- Hip & Joint supplements (medication)
- Bowls for food and water
- Dog leashes
- Doggie waste bags
- Dog toys
- Carpet cleaner in a spray bottle
- Paper towels
What else do you think I should take or what else would you take?
It’s kind of like I imagine packing for a trip / daytrip with a baby would be like :). I don’t own pets so I don’t know what else to add but this seems like a pretty comprehensive list.

Great list! I am sharing this with a few family members and friends that are dog owners. I know they will really appreciate it!

Maybe, plastic bags to pick up any accidents? I hope you have a great weekend! Enjoy your parents!

I am a horribly picky eater. However, I love the flavors of foods I don’t want to eat: like onions and tomatoes.

Ha Ha and I thought it was a lot of effort to travel with a baby. Happy travels!

Wow, that’s a lot of stuff to bring in. I think your list covered it all already. 🙂

Oh I LOVE 31 bags!! I’m always afraid we’re going to forget something when we take Guinness with us travelling! Luckily he doesn’t go many places with us where we haven’t been before. I started just leaving the supplies at our property up north so I don’t have to try and remember much

I love thirty-one bags–that one is too cute! Now that we have 2 dogs, travel is even more complicated! I always forget something. I love this list! My larger dog, Rambo, has a special spray that we put on his handkerchief and behind his ears to calm him for car rides. It’s a total lifesaver!
